Soil Enrichment with Squid Juice

Chitin naturally occurs in insect and crustacean shells as well as fungal cell walls. Scientific studies have shown that chitin promotes plant growth and defense. The Chitin molecule exists in 2 different structural forms in nature, Alpha (the most common - found in insects and crustaceans) and Beta (found only in squid). Chitin is a very durable molecule used in nature as a structural building block. Specific enzymes(chitinases) or chemical reactions (deacetalization) are required to breakdown this molecule. As the Chitin molecule breaks down into forms of Chitosan, it forms a number of different molecules that are bio- relevant to the plant. The Beta form of Chitin, which is unique to our squid-based Chitin source, breaks down to a higher number and concentration of these plant bio-relevant compounds. This makes the Beta form of Chitin much more useful and efficacious - up to thousands of times more. This also makes the Beta form of Chitin much more water soluble than the more commonly marketed alpha-based Chitin products. This means our product is easier to handle, mix and apply than alpha chitin products. We have developed a natural fermentation process to harness the power of β-chitin, in a unique formulation of micro and macro nutrients, specifically designed to increase plant growth, yield, and vigor.
